Malissa Whitehouse is a story still in the making. She’s already accomplished more than most people even dream of. Her songs have seen the spotlight on the British versions of The Voice and X-Factor. She’s been a member of a girl band. She’s had her songs in movies, even! She’s worked in music in one way or another all her life. And somehow, she’s managed to fit the whole “mom” thing in there somewhere.
But she’s not even close to being finished. In fact, it could be argued that she is just getting started! Some recent adventures and encounters have led to her hosting a new show and recording her own songs. She’s really on a roll now!
What I find most interesting about this episode, and what I think is the part listeners should take to heart; is how she’s come upon the successes in her life and career. It does seem to have a lot to do with good luck.

But that’s because Malissa knows how to put herself in the right places and situations, how to make people notice her, how to reach out and take what she wants. While it looks like she’s the luckiest woman to ever live, the truth is that luck has had nothing at all to do with her success. It’s all due to tenacity!

Malissa tells her story with grace and humour. It’s a joy to listen to her. But more importantly, it’s a learning experience. Aspiring musicians need to pay close attention to stories like hers.
